MISSION STATEMENT

Equipping and developing leaders, volunteer and professional, for the work of mission and ministry in the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod.

  

WHAT IS MTC?

 The Mission Training Center (MTC) is a cooperative project of ten districts of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod responding to the need for training and official recognition of many mission leaders, full-time, part-time and volunteer, who are serving in LCMS congregations and domestic mission sites.

 

A PARTNER OF LAP

The MTC has become a partner of the Leadership Advancement Process

(LAP) , a training network which offers courses and workshops across North America via the internet.

  

 

LOW COST TRAINING

 In order to make these courses available to the greatest number of people, tuition remains low at $175 per course. 

 

 

 

 

 

This program is for: 

  • Candidates for the Special Ministry (SMP) Programs of the LCMS administered through the synodical seminaries. (prerequisites in seven areas of ministry)

  • Candidates for many LCMS District lay ministry or deacon programs (check with your individual district)

  • Candidates for the Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology (EIIT) needing to fulfill prerequisites.

  • Anyone desiring basic training in Lutheran theology and pastoral practice.

  • Lay missionaries and church workers who wish to gain skills and effectiveness in their ministries.

  • Church workers in need of supplementary credit toward in their pursuit of professional/academic credentials.

  • Church leaders who wish to gain credentials in their area of specialty and/or to proceed to more professional levels of recognition in the church body.
